JUST IN: Gospel singer, Aduke Gold dies

The popular colleague of gospel singer Ajayi Aduke Morounkola, better known by her stage name Duke Gold, has confirmed her death in the early hours of Tuesday, August 13. On her verified Facebook page, she wrote, "A GENERAL HAS FALLEN. ADUKE GOLD #rip." Her cause of death was not yet known as of the time this report was filed. Born in Ilesha, the singer was raised in a polygamous home and rose to fame with her live performance at the first memorial service for the late gospel artist, Baba Ara.

 

She gained notoriety in 2021 after releasing the well-known song "Nitori Ogo."

She was a child educator who loved working with young children in addition to music.

Aduke was a Lagos State University history and international relations graduate.

She also holds a second degree from the University of Lagos in early childhood education.
