Delta Police Detain Asaba Content Creator as Probe Intensifies Over Nursing Student's Death

A criminal investigation is underway in Delta State after police arrested Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known online as Odogwu of Asaba, in connection with allegations involving 20-year-old nursing student Favour Agbro, whose death has sparked widespread public attention.

According to the Delta State Police Command, investigators are examining claims that the content creator lured the student to Asaba by offering to mentor her in content creation and help her establish herself in the industry. Authorities allege that during the visit, she was sexually assaulted, an allegation that forms the basis of the ongoing investigation.

Police say the young woman later returned home, where her emotional condition reportedly deteriorated. She was subsequently reported to have died by suicide, prompting her family to file a complaint and demand that authorities investigate the events leading up to her death. The complaint eventually led to Ogbonna's arrest.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that the suspect remains in custody while detectives gather evidence, interview witnesses, and await the outcome of forensic examinations. They stressed that the investigation is still ongoing and that the allegations will be tested through the judicial process.

The case has generated intense discussion on social media, with many Nigerians calling for justice while also urging restraint against drawing conclusions before the court has examined all the evidence. Others have renewed calls for stronger protections for young people seeking opportunities in the entertainment and content creation industry.

As of the time of publication, the Delta State Police Command has not announced a date for the suspect's arraignment. Authorities have also appealed to the public to avoid circulating unverified information that could interfere with the ongoing investigation.
