Super Falcons Face Cameroon in High Stakes WAFCON Quarter Final
Nigeria's Super Falcons are set for a major test at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations as they take on Cameroon in the quarter finals on Sunday, August 9.
The defending champions secured their place in the knockout stage after an emphatic 6–2 victory over Egypt in their final Group C fixture. The result confirmed Nigeria's place among the tournament's last eight.
Cameroon, meanwhile, progressed from Group D as group winners and will now face Nigeria in what promises to be one of the most closely watched quarter final fixtures of the tournament.
The encounter carries an added incentive beyond a place in the WAFCON semi finals. Qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup is also at stake, making Sunday's contest particularly important for both sides.
Nigeria will be looking to maintain their title defence, while Cameroon will hope to upset the reigning African champions and secure a place in the final four.
With two of Africa's established women's football powers meeting at this stage, the Super Falcons will need to be at their best when the action gets underway in Casablanca on Sunday.
Can the Super Falcons overcome Cameroon and move one step closer to defending their WAFCON crown?
