Chelsea Complete Club-Record £117m Signing of Morgan Rogers

Chelsea have officially completed the signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa in a club-record £117 million deal, making the England international the most expensive British footballer in history.

The 23-year-old attacker has signed a six-year contract until 2032, with an option to extend it by a further year until 2033. Chelsea moved quickly to secure the transfer, beating strong interest from Arsenal to land one of England's brightest young talents.

Speaking after completing the move, Rogers expressed his excitement about joining the Blues.

"For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I've always admired since I was a kid. I'm really excited about the project with the new manager."

Rogers arrives at Stamford Bridge following an outstanding spell with Aston Villa, where his creativity, versatility, and eye for goal established him as one of the Premier League's most exciting attacking players. His performances also earned him a place in England's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Chelsea believe the signing is another major step in their rebuilding project under new manager Xabi Alonso, with Rogers expected to play a key role in the club's ambitions for the coming seasons.

The transfer eclipses Chelsea's previous club-record signing and underlines the club's determination to strengthen its squad with elite young talent ahead of the new campaign.
